Henkel, a global provider of adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings, and Kraton Corporation, a global sustainable producer of biobased products derived from pine wood pulping, announced a multi-year supply partnership.
In this agreement, Kraton will supply Henkel Adhesive Technologies with high-performance, biobased tackifiers and its patented REvolution rosin ester technology to enable carbon emission reductions in a range of Henkel’s adhesive formulations.
The agreement reflects Henkel and Kraton’s vision and commitment to driving sustainability within the adhesives industry.
Partnerships with strategic suppliers like Kraton are a key factor in driving sustainable innovations and generating value for our customers,” said Pernille Lind Olsen, head of Henkel´s Global Packaging and Consumer Goods Division. “Kraton has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting Henkel in our ongoing transformation to increase our packaging and consumer goods product portfolio’s sustainability performance and will help our packaging and consumer goods customers meet their own sustainability commitments and satisfy consumer demand.”
Hot-melt adhesives are used in a variety of industries and applications from packaging and consumer goods to electronics and automotive. The integration of REvolution, a scalable, next-generation technology for biobased tackifiers, into Henkel’s Technomelt hot melt adhesive portfolio will lower environmental impact while maintaining the same high-quality solutions the market expects from Henkel.
Technomelt adhesives are trusted for reliability, quality, and proven results across a variety of applications. The Technomelt product portfolio includes biobased formulations, as well as innovative solutions like low temperature hot melt adhesive formulations. Kraton’s REvolution is a sustainable alternative to fossil-based tackifiers with exceptional adhesion performance, lighter color, oxidative stability, and reduced odor characteristics.
