Keeping a focus on engineering leadership
Within each January issue of the magazine, we focus on the topic of leadership in engineering. And while that’s usually focused on the leadership qualities of manufacturers as well as individual engineers, I’m proud to announce here that our parent company, WTWH Media, continues to take a leadership role in covering the engineering space.
Last month, we acquired Engineering. com, the widely respected Toronto-based media site that covers some key areas that we know our audience is very interested in. The site’s editorial staff is renowned for coverage in topics such as CAD, CAM, simulation, 3D printing, digital transformation, computing, AI, and more. We’re so excited to bring them into our corporate family — and you can expect to see more content from those critical topic areas on our designworldonline.com site.
The other exciting part of this new partnership is the vast array of online communities we now have in Eng-Tips. com, which boasts more than 1 million user sessions monthly and features roughly 160 topic areas in everything from bearing design to engineering methods to ethics. I encourage you to sign up for the forums, as well as the Design World Direct newsletter and the Engineering. com newsletters to keep abreast of all that’s happening in our fast-changing manufacturing world.
And speaking of digital transformation in manufacturing, we’re excited to announce a joint project between Design World and Engineering.com, the Digital Transformation Forum, scheduled for May 1-2, 2024 in Boston. This dynamic new event will run in conjunction with the Robotics Summit & Expo and DeviceTalks Boston, a medical device focused conference. We plan to have the site live in February, so please take note of the new URL, digitaltransformationforum.com.
Lastly, you’ll notice that the Leadership in Engineering listings that are normally in this issue have been moved to a digital format at https://leadership.designworldonline.com. Please visit this link or scan the QR code above to cast your vote for which companies are the leaders in each product area.
More big things to come in this new year — and as always, thank you for reading Design World.
